deBeer is one of the oldest sports equipment manufacturer in the U.S. It was established in Johnstown, New York, in 1889, by Jacob deBeer and first produced baseballs only. In 1980, the company officially began production of lacrosse sticks. The company's innovative incorporation of softball bat technology allowed for the creation of a stronger yet still lightweight stick.
In 1994, Jim Muhlfeld, met with the legendary Paul Gait in a coaching conference. They decided to work together and deBeer was soon inspired to provide a full line of men's lacrosse equipment to enhance the lacrosse player's natural ability to perform. And they didn’t stop at men. In 2000, deBeer created a revolutionary women's lacrosse head with a pocket in the stick, which significantly changed the way the game would be played.
deBeer's most recent products include the women's Rapture stick, Fierce, the Air Flow Straight Shaft, and the Intuition stick. Some of the teams to have availed themselves of deBeer’s product line include the 2006 Men's Lacrosse National Champions, the University of Virginia, the 2006 Women's National Lacrosse Runner-up, Dartmouth, and the U.S. National Women's Lacrosse Team.
After 117 years in the business, deBeer still looks forward to providing lacrosse players with innovative and quality gear to boost their performance.
