    Good:
    not much stands out
    Bad:
heavy, scoop, lack of stringing holes
    Overall:
The Proton is a really heavy. yeah sure they come pretty cheap, it'smissing all the stringing holes that I now need. The scoop isn't that great either.

Check out the Brine Blueprint or the STX X10 if you're looking for a defensive head.

    Good:
    Light, good for D, affordable
    Bad:
    warps a bit over time
    Overall:
I've not seen the Brine Blueprint before, but I give my vite to the Proton U.
I'm not a fan of the Edge, there's a lot of rubbish hype around it.

The Proton U is cheaper than the blueprint. As a defender, my Proton has warped a bit but I play 5 days a week so that's probably why.

    Good:
    quality, makes u better,
    Bad:
    tricky to string
    Overall:
If you're a defender you should get it. I bought my Proton about 6 months ago and I love it. It's really improved my ability and my team mates have even said so. Stringing it is a little challenging, but you have to get it right. it's warped a little bit coz I use it a lot but it doesn't make much of a difference.

  • good head for aggressive d, better than the X10

    Good:
    strong, good pocket
    Bad:
    weight
    Overall:
The first thing I noticed about this head was how wide it is. This is definitely a head for defence. It's stiff enough for aggressive d, but it's a little heavy so that holds you back a bit.

Other say they want more holes to string a good pocket, but I had no problems. It's really cheap and I'd say it's a better option than the X10.

  • Wide head, good for d

    Good:
    strong, stiff, easy ground balls
    Bad:
    warps a bit
    Overall:
The first thing I noticed about the Proton was how wide it is. If you string it correcty it can hold well even though it's wider.

It is kinda heavy and stiff. It took about half the season for it to start to warp, but even then not a lot. When it began to warp, I used my backup head for a bit and then went back to it. It seemed to return to its shape. The price also makes it affordable.

    Good:
    strong, durable, keeps shape
    Bad:
    want more holes
    Overall:
I play defense and I own the Proton and the X10. having played with them for a season I have to say that the Proton is soo much better. My X10 didn't give me much coz it cracked on both sides and wan't the same after that. The Proton is stiff and far more durable.

I'd get the Proton again. Even though there's not as many stringing holes as the X10, it's still a far better head.

  • pay out on attackers with this

    Good:
    strong, poking, grund balls
    Bad:
    weight, don't dodge with it
    Overall:
With this head, I'm poking and getting into all those whiney attackers. Gotta love the Proton for that alone. It's got a bit more weight to it than the others, but it's great for catching, throwing, shooting and ground balls. Not too good for dodging, the hold just isn't there.

For LSM get something a bit more pinched because of the hold. for def, this is way stiff and the most affordable head. the BEST!
